Blogging has not been my forte and fear has always clutched my heart. Here goes for the first time.

Just finished a series of collage classes at the Jordan Hall Art Center. Hope to do a monthly one as all the students were very excited and wanted to continue. 

The heat has taken a toll on my work recently and I do have air conditioning but to go in and out as one has to do takes me out.

Currently taking a watercolor class from JJ Jang a wonderful teacher and artist currently at Art Space.

No I am not and probably never will be a watercolorist. But, I find challenging myself is a wonderful way to think and react as an artist with my medium of choice Collage and Mixed media. 

As a founding member of the Western Wake Artists Studio Tour I am working with others on some tasks hopefully to make it even more successful. Our new dates will be Nov. 10-13 2011. Will keep you updated as God willing I will open my studio space once again.

I am always  involved in the arts here in Cary and a member of several organizations.  One is the Cary Visual Arts which specializes in outdoor sculptures, so I will be going to The Lecture on Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition by juror Glenn Weiss, the Manager of Public Art and Design in Times Square, NYC. Event is co-hosted by the Halle Cultural Arts Center, 237 N Salem Street in historic downtown Apex (919.249.1120).

And then the following evening, Friday, 13 August at 7pm the 2010 Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition Opening Reception, where we will be joined by the ten artists from eight different states and juror Glenn Weiss. Event is co-hosted by the Town of Cary at the

As you can see art is a big part of my life, oh! and I have been asked to be one of the judges for the Town of Cary call for artists this time around.

Being a member of the Triangle Guild for a couple of years has brought me the reward of selling my work. My work with others will be shown at the Davidson County Community College. We are exhibiting at the Mendenhall Administration Building on the campus of Davidson County Community College in Lexington, NC. The exhibit runs from August 17 through December 10. The reception is
Tuesday, August 17 from 4-6 pm. Wish me well!!
